img_1536

Happy Friday and Happy February and can I just say that I’m so glad it’s a new month –  Love Month!  We have been quite sick around here so all of us are ready to embrace a NEW month and share some LOVE!

There are always super cute and fun things to share for this month too! Here are just a few of my favorite things that I’ve discovered so far:

Mercy House Global Valentine’s Day Heart Lip Balm – Oh my Word! Aren’t they the cutest!! And they support the work of some sweet orphans in Malawi.  There are some other cute Valentine things too like friendship bracelets and coffee. Who doesn’t LOVE coffee?!

EloraInspired – We Love PlaceMats – We love our placemats and in fact, the girls often argue over who gets the pink one and who gets the blue one. I should have just bought the same colors! (DUH!) This is a great way to put scripture before then and also keep your table clean. She also recently released a coloring version of Noah’s Ark!

The Little Market – Wooden Heart Bowl – So CUTE! I’m just learning about this shop and all the work that they do but I already LOVE so many of their products! And I love even more that they support and empower women all around the world to do great work. There is also a wooden heart shaped spoon… swoon…

Fishesandloaves – Valentine Hanging Towel – This is my sweet friend, Anna, who I adore and MISS big! Her, her hubby, and their fun kiddos moved up north for medical school a few years ago now and God is doing great things through them but man they are missed down here.  She is super talented and recently posted these to her little shop. I’m not sure how many she has left – hopefully I can snag one before they are gone!

Valentine Books & Resources

There is a picture link below to purchase through our On Mission Mom’s Amazon Shop.

Is this not the cutest book series?! I just love all the different ones – You, Heaven, Angels, Sleep, the World.. So Cute! This would be a great book to add to your Valentine Collection.

I had no idea that Rick Warren wrote children books… who knew?! But it’s super cute (which I think I have said on every item above… ha). This is a sweet story how the God of the universe also loves each of us, individually and deeply. What greater truth to pour into their hearts – an eternal love!

I posted on Instagram the other day about how God was reminding me about striving to be an excellent wife first. Lots of you asked about this book! It’s great and would be an excellent read throughout February. There is also a book for the husbands – although it is not written to “go together”, it’s great and my hubby has been challenged as he has read this month. There are links included below to purchase from Amazon. (On Mission Moms does receive a small portion of your purchase. Thank you for supporting our work!)

I do not receive any compensation or support from the shops mentioned above. I just love their work and want to support and share it with other like minded mamas! I do however, receive a small portion of the profit from  the Amazon links posted above!

Celebrating Moms while Giving Back!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I know we are probably looking for great ideas for the moms in our lives or maybe that special lady that has mentored and loved you and your kiddos. Or maybe, you just want to forward this post on to your hubby and do a little shameless hinting…  And the cool thing about each of these is that they are giving back to other Mom’s or people in need. These are some of my favorite things I’ve been seeing from some of the cutest little shops or incredible ministries!

Mercy House Global – Mother’s Day Bath Bundle

Who doesn’t love a relaxing bath?!? After a long day at work or running around with the kiddos, this seems like a little piece of heaven right here!

Mercy House – Mother’s Day Card

How sweet is this? And it has a globe in it… you can’t ever go wrong with that for an On Mission Mom, right?

Mercy House – Go Hoop

And well, this just…. no words…

Milk & Honey – Dancer Drawings

This is the sweetest little dancer and the sweet girl making these is just as sweet! You can find Carter over on Instagram at milkandhoney.art . A portion of her sales goes to buy milk and honey through Samaritan’s Purse. And these sweet dancers – oh my heart…

Karama Collections – Leather Journal

Noonday Collections – Storyline Courage Necklace

Maybe there is someone special who has played a specific role in your life. The storyline collection has beautiful pieces for many different “stories”.

There are are so many other great ideas but I have to stop somewhere. What would you love to receive for Mother’s Day? Maybe it’s not even a gift – a nice quiet morning with breakfast in bed sounds glorious too! How can you support other mamas around the world while loving on the mamas in your life?

Friday Faves

This week is all about homeless and poverty as that is what has been on the brain lately with our Helping Hands fun Saturday morning coming up! I hope you and your little ones will come and spend a little time with us preparing bags for our homeless friends. If you have not signed up, it’s not too late! The link is below!

Here are some other faves I’ve found this week as I’ve been searching and preparing for our event.

  1. Ever Wondered What to Say?

Homeless

Often times we sometimes aren’t sure what to “say”… here are some great conversation starters that you can use as you meet our friends on the street. There are also some things that may be we just shouldn’t say or ask, or even think…

2. Books for Kids about Poverty & Hunger

poverty_hunger_childrens_books

I’m always on the lookout for great books to read with my kiddos and while I haven’t read through each one of these, many of these are on my list to read and several of these are just great!

What books have you read that teaches about poverty and hunger and homelessness?

3.  Hippie Jack

I don’t really know anything about Hippie Jack, other than what this video shows, but it makes me smile and reminds me that there are still some good men and women out there serving with all they have, and it makes me tap my toe a little too…

How can you be like Hippie Jack? Don’t you have a fun bus like that?!? haha

4. Blessing Bottles

help-bottle-400x550

This is a great unique “spin” on blessing bags!

Have you made anything like this before to give to our homeless friends? If so, share and let us learn new and different ways!

5. Helping Hands FUN Event!

IMG_4960

You can sign up in our On Mission Moms Facebook Page link above! We will be meeting at Caroline Brewer’s home and she will be sending out info. It’s going to be a fun morning together serving, learning, and praying with our little ones.

And one last little plug, if you haven’t had a chance to read the Do No Harm Series, well… you should!

Do No Harm: Be Prepared

Do No Harm: We’re All Poor

Do No Harm: Knowing When

Do No Harm: Learning More

*Just a reminder that I don’t necessarily “endorse” the websites that I’ve linked to above.  Not all are Christian based websites/blogs/videos; however, they are all great ideas that we can learn and grow from and adapt to work with what we believe as On Mission Moms!

Friday Faves!!

Here are a few of our Friday Favorites over here at On Mission Moms! We hope that you will use these resources or read these books and articles as we grow and learn about how to lead our families to love Jesus and love and serve others!

1. OLYMPICS! Need I say more! just search on Pinterest for a minute and you’ll find TONS of fun ways to celebrate and learn about countries from all around the world! Take it a few steps further and make a fun meal from another country this weekend, spend time praying for the various countries that take gold, and pray for the work that is happening at the Winter Olympics this year!

Here’s one of our favorites, even though it’s from Summer 2016.

2. Give Your Child the World  – This is such a GREAT resource! It’s a book of books! It gives great ideas for how to expose our children to the world through books and if you don’t have a copy of it in your library, well – you should!

3.  Joshua Project – This is an “Oldie but a Goodie”. If you are looking for a great way to guide your prayers for the nations – this is IT! It’s been our go to for several years now. They have a book (Operation World) , website, and app that you can use – so pick your favorite and just start praying!

4. You Don’t Always Have to Use Your Passport…– such a great video reminder that we have neighbors right beside us, on our college campuses… all we have to do is get to know them and invite them into our homes and our lives!

5. Honest Mission Trip Leader – Just for Giggles… Hope you LAUGH today!!!
