Friday Faves

Here are a few favorite things we are loving right now:

Window on the World- an Operation World Prayer Resource

It’s so good although I’m a bit sad that a few of my favorite countries didn’t make the book, maybe that just means another book is coming!? Grab a copy and lead your little ones in learning more about the world and praying for our world.

HandMade Easter Eggs

Y’all have seen my disdain for those plastic eggs that have taken over my home this last week. Mercy House Global has a brilliant solution with handmade felt eggs that will give back to the ladies making them! They have just restocked so you better hurry and get some before they are out again!

Speaking of those silly plastic eggs, be sure to grab our Easter Egg Service Challenge printable, choose which ones you want to do, let your little one open up a few eggs before Easter and get serving! We just opened up “bake cookies and give them away!” So we spent yesterday baking St. Patrick’s Day cookies and sending them to work with daddy and to our teachers.

And it’s almost St. Patrick’s Day!

Be sure to take a few minutes and share the great story of who St. Patrick was and how God is still calling out missionaries today!

VeggieTales has a silly clip that explains his life and my little ones love it! But they also love VeggieTales and any excuse to watch TV! You can find the short video here on YouTube.

Local On Mission Moms

Have you had a chance to visit the Family Prayer Room at The Bridge! It’s coming together and you should totally stop in with your little ones and spend a few minutes praying together! We still have a few more items to finish up the room – simple things like chalk and cars/trucks for the community mat. Be sure to check out our Amazon wishlist and help us finish up this special room! There is also an all night prayer time coming up in April and the family prayer room will be open even as our little ones are sleeping.

So, What are you loving this week?

Share over on Instagram or here in the comments and let’s grow and learn together!

Easter Egg Service Challenge

If you are like me, you probably have quite the collection of those plastic eggs lying around your home. I have a love hate relationship with them. From the moment they come out until the day after Easter, I feel like we are picking those things up or trying to find the bottom piece or throwing them away because sister stepped on one, which usually means someone is left in a puddle of tears.

This year I thought we would put those silly things to a good use with the Easter Egg Service Challenge. I created little fun ways to serve others for our family, printed them out, cut them apart, and then filled each egg with a little opportunity.

As Lent begins today, we will be opening an egg every day (that we don’t forget…) and discovering simple ways we can serve others this Easter season.

How are you serving others and teaching your little ones about the sacrifice of Jesus this Easter? Share your ideas with us so that we can learn from each other!

If you would like to be a part of the Easter Egg Service Challenge, just download our free printable and have fun!

Also, be sure to tag us @onmissionmoms as you have fun serving and loving others this Easter season.

Friday Favorites!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Friday Favorites, but I’ve come across quite a few really super cute, fun and important things lately and couldn’t help but share them with you this week!

  1. Felt Easter Eggs – Mercy House Global

These are super cute and who says you have to use the plastic eggs for your Easter basket?! Also these help change the lives of some pretty beautiful ladies from Street Hope, one of their artisan groups. You can read more about Street Hope on their website.

  1. Scripture ABC Cards – Kids Read Truth

We have a scripture that we use with the girls each week but what better way to reinforce scripture and help them learn their letters at the same time – and these cards are just beautiful!

  1. World Watch List- Open Doors

Do you know the top 50 places around the world where it’s hardest for our brothers and sisters to follow Jesus? Open Doors just released their 2019 Watch List and it’s interesting to me to see what countries make the list each year and how some countries have been on this list for years and years. Be sure to download the list, read the stories from those living there, and pray for each country that is listed. Maybe pray for a country each week?

  1. Qadimi Rugs

I have a dear friend who is doing great work in one of the countries listed above. The ladies she works with recently released a new line of beautiful rugs. If you are looking for a beautiful new rug for your home, why not support the work of women around the world at the same time?! I’m so proud of this sweet friend and ways that the Father is using her gifts and talents to impact the world! You can also follow them over at Instagram  to see all the beautiful work that they are doing.

  1. King Cake and praying for New Orleans

I’ve had lots of questions lately about what is King Cake!?! If you’ve never had one, you have got to try it! This recipe from Brown Eyed Baker is my tried and true one. I’ve tried a few others and added filling but I always come back to this one. (Which by the way, I don’t know this beautiful lady or blog but her king cake recipe is legit!)  Or if you would rather just use a mix (no shame!) you can purchase them from our Amazon On Mission Moms Link! (we do receive a small portion of your purchase so thanks for supporting us!)

What fun resources have you come across this week that will help you and other mamas live “On Mission”? Share with us and encourage others!

A Little Easter FUN!

Easter is this weekend! What?!

Although Lent has been going on now for 40 days, this year Easter seemed to sneak up on us around here! Here are some fun ideas for you and your family to share Jesus with others around you. I pray that you will take this opportunity to share Jesus with your neighbors, family, and friends and that you will invite them to join you in worship on Sunday or maybe at your church Easter Egg Hunt or event. Many families are open and willing during this season – we just have to ask and invite!

  1. You’ve been Egged!

I love this idea and look forward to doing this with my girls at some point this week – can’t give it all away, right?!? While this specific sight is not necessarily “christian” – it has great ideas that you can add your own personal touch to and share Jesus as you desire!

2. The Jelly Bean Prayer

This would be a GREAT and easy idea to give to our homeless friends along with a blessing bag and encouragement! Sometimes a little “extra” love and joy and candy goes a LONG way! ha

3. Easter Basket for the Nursing Home

This could be an easy and quick craft that you could then go and take to some of our elderly and home bound friends!
