This week as I’ve gone throughout the week, I’ve been drawn to this worship song. Some days we just need to be reminded that we are children of a good good Father who gives us a spirit of boldness and courage to stand up for truth and what is right. My prayer for us as On Mission Moms, is that we will live out our calling with great boldness – sharing Christ in our homes, with our children, and in our mission field, wherever that may be.
Religion shapes who we are, no matter who we are or where we are. This is a quite heart breaking glimpse into how religion is shaping girls all around the world. As you read THIS ARTICLE, will you pray for the girls in these countries.
And as these girls grow up to become women, my prayer is that they will one day be introduced to a Jesus who loves them deeply.
International Women’s Day is coming up, March 8th. While we don’t really celebrate this day in big ways here in the States, there will be big celebrations around the world and this gives us great reason to pray that the girls we met in the article above will one day become women who know and love the Lord. Check out this great video from World Relief, honoring women around the world! #thankGodforwomen
You can also learn more about World Relief and the work that they are doing to reach women who are in the midst of pretty devastating places and crisis here.
We must also not only be women who are praying for women and girls around the world, but we must also be women who support the work of other women around the world and our friends down the street too. There are lots of ways to do that! Here are just a couple of great Fair Trade ministries and businesses that I love!
World Crafts, is a ministry of WMU (Women’s Missionary Union) and sells not only jewelry but great Nativities and Christmas goodies, as well as other fun things all while supporting artisans from around the world.
Noonday was launched by Jessica Honegger as her family began the adoption process. This is one of my FAVES for fun jewelry and accessories and it supports over 4500 artisans from around the world! They also do great work supporting families and adoption!
What other businesses or ministries do you know of that are Fair Trade and are supporting the work of women and moms around the world? Let’s share them with each other so that we can support and encourage one another! Let’s also spend this International Women’s Day praying for women and moms around the world, in our neighborhood, and each other!
